Blowhards on TV
I really don’t watch much TV these days. With the exception of a few good series (that make it past the chopping block), there’s not much there except B.S. Reality TV, game shows, singing/dancing shows, shopping networks, etc.
The one thing TV has too much of are these damn blowhards on any station you turn on, particularly when it comes to the news channels.
Talk format news is not news… in fact, it’s really annoying
- Nancy Grace [CNN Headline News]… she needs to be shot live on her show. All she does is cover one topic for months on end, like Caylee the missing/dead girl, the Duke Lacrosse team incident, etc… I’d almost wish for Crossfire to come back on to replace her show, and that was a really annoying show
- Any news show that has more than one guest and doesn’t mute the other interviewees while one is talking. I thought it was long understood that two or more people talking at once was very hard on the listener/viewer. All these pundits do is talk out of their ass and get paid for it.
In school, I know if I interrupted someone while they were talking, I’d get a chalkboard or pencil eraser thrown at me… and Mrs. Turner was a good shot.
So therefore 50% or more of cable/satellite bandwidth is wasted.
I’ll stick to the News Hour with Jim Leherer.
